Blender Ideas / Recipes

This past October, I had my most recent jaw surgery. Due to the nature of the operation, I had to adhere to a blender diet for part of my recovery.  Blender Diets are vital in jaw surgery recovery because you can't move your jaw but you still need to eat food. I was told that high calorie intake contributes to faster recovery after jaw surgery so I made it a goal to try and eat as much as I could.

I have the nutri-ninja single serve blender. It's a 1000 watt blender and works like a dream. 100% recommend this brand. It's easy to clean, dishwasher safe and is great for on-the-go. It's also really great for pureeing soups like pumpkin, carrot and others. I used it a lot for pureeing progresso soups and it worked great. Some of the soups were a little thicker so we cut them with water or chicken stock which made them easier to eat. I also have the regular sized Ninja blender which I use when making larger amounts of blended foods.

I have a smoothie recipe board on Pinterest that you can find HERE. Feel free to check it out! There are tons of pins on there with some great recipes.

My local grocery store sells a bunch of varieties of frozen fruit but my favorite brand is Wyman's. They have a few different frozen fruit mixes, one that even has frozen kale already mixed in! I usually add the frozen fruit, some greek yogurt (for protein), and either apple or orange juice. Sometimes I'll add a banana if I have them on hand.
This is my favorite but feel free to go with whatever you like!

If smoothies get boring, a search on pinterest for baby food can offer some more ideas. I like sweet potatoes and carrots so I made a few batches of my own.
