HI THERE! My name is Nikki!

If you are here, then you have probably read a few blog entries. Sharing my experiences really makes me feel like I could potentially help someone else out there who is going through what I'm going through right now. Even if my blog helps someone to realize that they aren't alone in their pain or worry, makes me feel like a million bucks. So thanks for stopping by!

But for those who don't know me personally, my name is Nikki. I underwent what I like to call my "jaw journey." I had a lot of issues with my teeth and jaw growing up but I was diagnosed with having TMJ and multiple jaw issues in May of 2013. Not only did I have joint issues in my jaw, I also had major skeletal issues that wouldn't allow me to eat most foods. Unfortunately, there was no easy way to fix everything. To correct everything, I had to go into braces and undergo 4 surgeries. This blog documents my experience going through multiple surgeries and being an "older adult" in braces.

On a more personal note, I'm 29 years old currently living in Waltham, Massachusetts. I live with my wonderfully charming husband named Don, my brother in law named Tim, and our dog Bailey.

I currently work full time as a pharmacy technician at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. I primarily work in the OR Pharmacy. The fast pace and high energy environment is what I love most. I've worked as a pharmacy technician in both retail and hospital settings for about 5 years now. I love to travel with my hubby and we've gone to such amazing places. So far we've traveled together to San Diego and San Francisco California, Toronto Canada, Niagara Falls NY, Ireland, Wales, London, and Munich Germany. We've also done a road trip from Boston to Orlando. We came home via Kentucky and Ohio and had an awesome time!

Some other hobbies include: reading anything sci-fi, comics, sewing, quilting, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, playing board games (my favorite is Ticket to Ride, if you haven't played it, pick it up! It's addictive!), Watching The Big Bang Theory, playing and cuddling with Bailey, looking at pictures of animals on pinterest, Hello Kitty, snowboarding when I can afford it, and trying new things!
